In response to questions from a reporter on the topic of gun violence and gun control, I thought it best to position the answers in the form of a brief position paper article. 1. How would you describe your position on gun rights and the Second Amendment? For example, do you support new gun legislation? […]
Over the last few days both Toby Sumpter (pastor of Trinity Reformed Church in Moscow, ID) and Douglas Wilson (pastor Christ Church of Moscow, ID) have responded to Joel McDurmon’s and my critique of Wilson’s comments on incrementalism and abolitionism. For the record, the link to the podcast in which Douglas made comments about abolitionism […]
In a recent article, pro-life spokesperson Abby Johnson argues that the real hindrance to ending abortion today is the perception of “older white men screaming at women” outside abortion clinics. She says, “How pro-lifers are perceived by those who oppose us is important.” Reading the rest of her article makes me realize why the mainstream […]
Abortion will not be abolished merely by shutting down abortion mills. There must be more. Furthermore, being centered on abortion mills alone is not abolitionism. There must be more. Like I said in my examination of a “church repentless” abolitionism, I do not make these distinctions nor do I call out faux-abolitionism for the sake of […]
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in (Matt. 23:13). Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and […]
The move by Matt Bevin’s administration effectively to close the last abortion clinic in Kentucky has pro-life organizations and supporters cheering and rallying. While the prevention of a single abortion certainly is something to praise, the bigger picture certainly is not. The reasoning is simple. Abortion is murder. To regulate abortion is to sanction abortion, […]
A group working to end abortion now in Alabama argues that Alabama law already contains everything it needs to accomplish that goal: all that is needed is for the Governor to push the button. The nullification/interposition option is there, waiting for Christians to pressure the government into taking it. Here’s more on it, and how […]
The Bounds of Love: An Introduction to God’s Law of Liberty Master Table of Contents Life and Liberty Life would have its utmost protection in a theonomic state. It would be protected both by the state and from the state. Murderers would be executed (Ex. 21:12–14, 18–25; Lev. 24:17, 19–22). Children in the womb would […]
Misguided pro-life activism has once again resulted in a chorus of liberals cheering victory across the headlines. When will these overfunded failures going to acknowledge that piecemeal, incremental compromises with the enemy are futile, godless, and detrimental to the profession of “pro-life”? Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt is yet another case in point. Instead of […]
Michael Hirsh, a prominent pro-life activist, joins the show to discuss the effects of abortion on the black community, and the racist beginnings of Planned Parenthood.
Paul Hill, convicted of murdering abortionist John Britton and his bodyguard in 1994, considered himself to be a twentieth-century John Brown. Brown, if you recall, was the self-appointed avenger of God who was fond of quoting Hebrews 9:22: “All things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission” (KJV). If it took the blood of Americans to purge the sin of slavery from the land, so be it, Brown argued. For his actions, Brown was regarded as a hero by many in the anti-slavery movement of his time.
Having recently returned from the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, I can assure you that there is plenty of interest in the art of filmmaking within the evangelical community. This is a good thing and very much-needed if Christians hope to have any input and influence in the pagan-saturated media-marketplace of ideas.
A mini-storage facility uses edgy ads to get the attention of customers. The latest billboard not only advertises its storage facilities but promotes its pro-abortion agenda. The ad causing controversy carries a picture of a coat hanger along with the following copy: “Your closet space is shrinking as fast as her right to choose.” Since […]
In a 5-4 judicial squeaker, the Supreme Court ruled that a ban on partial birth abortions is constitutional. The pro-abortionists are hysterical. What’s instructive is how the pro-abortion position is being argued.
