Since the very night of the victory of Donald Trump, liberal progressives of many stripes have expressed bewilderment and all-but terror at the prospect of how to explain to their children how and why America could make such an astoundingly shocking decision. Most notable was Van Jones, who on CNN the night of the election […]
This story has made its rounds for amusement, but it should also be highlighted as an example of the fine acumen of liberal reporting. Seriously. Reporter Gersh Kuntzman of the New York Daily News went the extra mile for anti-gun propaganda (some liberal peers still doggedly call it “reporting”) this week by getting hands-on: he […]
My wife and I sat down the Saturday before the Academy Awards to watch the 2015 film Trumbo. Dalton Trumbo is played by Bryan Cranston who did a marvelous job, certainly worthy of the Academy Award nomination he received for Best Actor. It’s loosely based on the Hollywood screenwriter, author, and self-admitted Communist Dalton Trumbo […]
Liberals will use the Bible with their politics when they believe it defends a position that supports their agenda. You’ll even find liberals using the Bible to support homosexual marriage by quoting familiar passages like Matthew 7:1–2 and Mark 12:31 but ignoring Matthew 19:1–12 and other anti-homosexual passages (Rom. 1:18–32; 1 Cor. 6;9–11; 1 Tim. […]
For conservatives, the results of last week’s election are encouraging, a victory but we have to keep our guard up. If we relax and become complacent we will lose every inch of ground gained, probably even more. We won some battles but it is important to stay vigilant, fight even harder, the war is far […]
In this episode, Gary examines the inconsistencies of liberals on the separation of Church and State. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is set forth as an example of liberals’ double standards.
Each fall, nearly two million American students will leave for college for the very first time. Their education will cost $12,000 a year for a public university and up to $50,000 for a private one. Scholarships and grants reduce the cost for most families, but still, the Wall Street Journal reports that the average student leaves college with $23,186 in debt.
Nationwide, the total cost for this transaction is somewhere between 25 and 40 billion dollars per year.
Liberals will use anything to support their unsupportable worldview, even if it’s the Bible. They will use the Bible when they can manipulate it enough to fit their agenda. How many times have you had a liberal throw Matthew 7:1 back at you when you mention that some particular behavior is immoral? “Remember what Jesus said, ‘Do not judge.'” When you criticize a piece of unconstitutional legislation or a law that the president wants passed, you’ll have “render unto Caesar” (Matt. 22:21) thrown in your face.
Liberal politicians twist the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth into a political propaganda story every year. Mary represents an impregnated premarital sex youth. Joseph and Mary’s plight that ends up with them giving birth to a child in a first century barn represents the poor and needy of America the U.S. government should save with […]
Obama and the Democrats want “more Americans to contribute today so that all Americans can do better tomorrow.” I’m sorry, but I’m already contributing enough, taking into account federal, state, property, school, ad valorem, sales, social security, hotel, entertainment, airline, utility, gasoline, and dozens of other hidden taxes. Taxes on alcohol and cigarettes do not affect me directly since I do not smoke or drink. These taxes, however, still have a deleterious effect on the economy since money is power in the hands of the State. By the way, our health-care crisis is related more to poor health habits – smoking, drinking, and obesity – and bureaucratic regulations that drive up health costs.
In an interview that was published in Sunday’s New York Times Magazine (July 5, 2009), Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she thought the landmark Roe v. Wade decision on abortion was predicated on the Supreme Court majority’s desire to diminish “populations that we don’t want to have too many of.” Of course, there is nothing new in what Ginsburg said. The American Birth Control League (which eventually became Planned Parenthood), the brainchild of birth-control and abortion advocate Margaret Sanger, was founded on identical sentiments. In 1939 Sanger started “The Negro Project.” She called on black preachers to support sterilization
Why does the Left sympathize with radical Islamic extremists? Over the July 4th weekend a story about how a recent New York City Council resolution that recommend the city’s school system shut down to commemorate two of the most important Muslim holidays was picked up by Islamic groups and declared as a victory for Allah and Islam. Why would these nut-balls do such a thing? By “nut-balls,” I mean the New York City Council. This is the same New York City that went through the horrors of 9-11. What are these people thinking?
Alan Colmes, who co-hosted with Sean Hannity on FOX’s “Hannity and Colmes,” claims that Jesus “believed the rich should give to the poor.” Obama and most of Congress seem to agree. Let’s assume that Colmes’ analysis of Jesus is correct on this point. This is a far cry from saying that productive people should be taxed and that the government should redistribute their income to the less fortunate (Prov. 6:6-11; 13:4, 18; 19:15; 20:13; 21:25-26; 24:30-34; 28:19). A person who refuses to work is not to be assisted: “If anyone will not work, neither let him eat” (2 Thess. 3:10).
A nation’s culture defines what is normal and acceptable in society; how we view right and wrong, who are heroes are, and what we want our children to believe. Culture is based on the values that are widely accepted by society and that we want to transmit from generation to generation. Many things affect a nation’s culture, but few affect it so directly and profoundly as politics.
President Obama is proposing a simplification of the tax code. We’ve heard this before. As it now stands, the tax code consists of 60,000 pages and 3.7 million words. If the IRS wants to get you, it can easily find a way given so many rules. So what should we expect from a modified and […]
John Sack’s An Eye for an Eye is a disheartening book. It tells the story of Jewish revenge against their German oppressors in 1945. The book describes how the Russian liberators of the death camps in Poland recruited holocaust survivors to carry out a policy of de-Nazification of the war-torn area. What began as a desire to find, incarcerate, and try their Nazi antagonists, the Jewish survivors became like their tormentors in that they went after noncombatants.
Former President Carter calls divisions among Christians a cancer
With the best-seller status of books supporting atheism and attacking religion in the news, it’s remarkable to see so much talk about religion by the presidential candidates and liberals in general.
