Have you noticed how selective Democrats are when it comes to the Bible? Here’s the latest from Democrat political strategist and Clinton supporter Paul Begala. Begala told CNN that former President Trump said that his opponents should “rot in hell.” Notice that Trump did not say “burn in hell” or “be damned to hell.” Begala said the “rot in hell” line was “blasphemy.”
“It’s like this comment about Christmas, telling people to rot in hell, you know I am a Christian, that’s blasphemy.”
Begala’s a Christian? Begala’s a Christian like Hillary Clinton is a Christian. Who was Trump referring to? Not just “people.” Probably the same people who claim he’s the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler because he used the phrase “poisoning the blood of our people.” He was referring to the fentanyl crisis that has been referred to as “poisoning” as well as the violence. Democrats will twist and distort everything Trump says but will not say anything about the actions and statements of Biden and other Democrats, especially the antisemitic comments of fellow Democrats. Here are Trump’s full comments on the “rot in hell comment.”

Trump also included some world Leaders who “are as evil and ‘sick’ as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Restoring the Foundation of Civilization
There are many Christians who will not participate in civilization-building efforts that include economics, journalism, politics, education, and science because they believe (or have been taught to believe) these areas of thought are outside the realm of what constitutes a Christian worldview. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Buy NowLet’s begin with Begala’s claim that he’s a Christian. As you know, a tree is known by its fruit (Luke 6:43-45). What is the moral fruit of Begala? Here’s how James, the brother of Jesus, describes people who claim to be believers:
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him?If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? (James 2:14-20).
Begala, Hillary, and the Democrat Party support the murder of unborn babies up until the time of birth. This is worse than not clothing and feeding people. In biblical terms, it’s murder. There is no place in the Bible where abortion in any way can be supported. Begala mentions Christmas, the birth of Jesus. Given Begala’s views on abortion, Mary would have been within her rights to kill Jesus in her womb. Also, the birth narratives demonstrate that unborn babies are persons (Luke 1:41). There is no support for abortion in Exodus 21:22-25 by claiming an unborn baby is not a legally protected person under biblical law:
If men struggle with each other and strike a pregnant woman so that her children come out [this is the literal translation], yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
Umberto Cassuto, also known as Moshe David Cassuto (1883-1951), was a Jewish rabbi and biblical scholar born in Florence, Italy. In his commentary on Exodus, he presents an accurate translation of the passage based on the nuances of the Hebrew:
When men strive together and they hurt unintentionally a woman with child, and her children come forth but no mischief happens—that is, the woman and the children do not die—the one who hurts her shall surely be punished by a fine. But if any mischief happens, that is, if the woman dies or the children, then you shall give life for life.[1]
For Begala, the so-called right to abortion is about “choice.” It’s the woman’s choice that humanizes a “fetus” that only becomes a person when the mother decides not kill her unborn baby by bringing him or her to full term.
Begala and other Democrats support same-sex-everything. They also support the heinous claim that men can transition to become women and women can transition to become men. This outrage is taking place with very young children who have no understanding of sex, but with the full support of the Democrat Party and the teacher unions that support the Democrats. You can’t be a Christian and believe in transgenderism.
The Bible is very clear on same-sex relationships. See Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, Romans 1:18-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, and 1 Timothy 1:6-11. Jesus states that God made them male and female. Marriage is only between men and women (Matt. 19:4-5). Democrats flaunt same-sex sexuality as we saw with two men having sex in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill. One of the men is identified in the video as staffer for Maryland Democrat Sen. Ben Cardin. Get this. “According to a Senior congressional official, no crime was committed if the sex acts are consensual regardless of the locale.” This is where we are today. Homosexuality is rampant in DC. Even Republicans hire self-avowed homosexuals. “In the days that followed the incident, reports of other incidents involving Congressional staffers engaging in sexual activities on Capitol grounds were revealed, including one from 2022 of two male staffers from the office of Republican Representative Dan Newhouse of Washington state.”
So, given what Scripture is clear about, I’m not sure what type of Christian Begala is.
What about Trump telling people to “rot in hell”? Those are strong words. Jesus used some rather salty language during His ministry. He did say that those who were attacking Him were of their “father the devil” (John 8:44). Later, Jesus said that the religious leaders of His day were “sons of those who murdered the prophets” (Matt. 23:31). He went on to call them “serpents” and a “brood of vipers.” He ended with, “how shall you escape the sentence of hell?” (23:33)
The Apostle Paul wrote the following to the Galatians about the Judaizers: “I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate [ἀποκόψονται] themselves” (5:12), that is, to go all the way and cut off their private parts. John Gill comments: “I would they would even make themselves eunuchs. Let them carry their self-mutilation still further, and not stop at circumcision.”
It’s remarkable that Trump’s “rot in hell” statement gets more press coverage than public same-sex acts, the continued support of abortion with hundreds of millions of dollars going to Planned Parenthood, men taking over women’s sports in the name of sexual inclusion and diversity, some of our nation’s cities rotting because of Leftist policies, being overrun by an invasion at our southern border, and so much more.

Christianity's failure to show itself practical in the past 150 years has guaranteed the success of secularism and militant Islam, both of which are doing incalculable harm at home and abroad.
