Gary invites Kim Burgess back to the podcast to conclude his series on the resurrection and 1 Corinthians 15.
We are not saying the world is now ethereal; we are not being Gnostic; we are not being anti-creation in terms of the material reality of Genesis 1. We are saying that the salvation that was going to come to the Gentile nations in the Genesis space-time creation order was going to come through the New Covenant Kingdom of God, which is in, of, by, and through the Holy Spirit. In this sense it is a Spiritual Reality. It is a Spiritual, not a carnal or political Kingdom. The New Covenant Kingdom of God is not political in the human sense of this term. It does not sign up to particular man-made political parties. The Kingdom of God redeems and transforms politics, bringing it into line with Biblical law and the Lordship of Christ over all. The Kingdom of God is not present at D in the same way that the earthly Davidic kingdom was present at C. The New Covenant Kingdom is present at D according to the Spiritual reality at A. Being thus present, the Kingdom of God is very powerful and has a saving impact in the space-time world far more effective than it could ever at C! As Christ Himself put it, “It is the Spirit who give life; the flesh profits nothing” (John 6:63). Jesus told His disciples.
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away [in the flesh]; for if I do not go away, the Helper [the Holy Spirit] shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you … and greater works than these shall he [you] do because I go to the Father (John 16:7; 14:12).
Even Jesus’ form of presence on earth was going to change with this eschatological change of covenantal administrations from flesh to Spirit. The New Covenant Kingdom is not one that human eyes can see, but it is no less real for being Spiritual! It is far more powerful!

The Hope of Israel and the Nations (Volume 2)
In this second and concluding volume of The Hope of Israel and the Nations, Kim Burgess continues expounding his lessons on New Testament Eschatology. With help from co-author Gary DeMar, Kim connects all the parts of the NT and fashions them into a whole. Kim emphasizes the one-and-many approach to interpretation. The parts and the whole must be studied together. They make up the warp and woof of proper biblical interpretation. The process takes time and study, but it brings the full story of the Bible into clear focus.
Buy NowGary invites Kim Burgess back to the podcast to conclude his series on the resurrection and 1 Corinthians 15. In this final episode, Kim goes through several verses in the New Testament to help make his point about what it means to be “alive in spirit” and what Paul is talking about when he says we will be given a “spiritual body.”
