There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. (1 Corinthians 12:4–6)
In His providence, God supplies individuals and churches with the talents they need to perform the work for which He has called them. Personal differences between church members, as well as varying levels of talents and abilities, are just two ways that problems can arise in a local congregation. We must all recognize that we have a part to play, even if we are not called to be the one out in front.
The Reconstruction of the Church
The reconstruction of the Church requires the re-establishment of three principles. First, there must be a re-establishment of true government in the Church. Second, there must be a re-establishment of true liturgical discipline around the sacrament. Third, there must be a re-establishment of sound teaching. The Church is the nursery of the Kingdom, and there can be no reformation in state, school, or family, until there is reformation in the Church.
Buy NowGary concludes his conversation with Rev. Mickey Schneider about his fifty-year pulpit ministry. Pastor Schneider reveals more of the connections he had with major figures in 20th century Reformed Theology. The church grows through the individual connections and relationships made over the years. Christians should always take the opportunity to meet new people and learn new things from other Christians; you never know where it may lead.
