Gary recorded a bonus podcast yesterday with his thoughts about the election on Tuesday. These are the notes he used for the episode.
-————————–
Had no idea who was going to win.
Told my wife to stop feeding me election result news.
Reminded me of 2016.
What happened to all the “voters”
Polling was way off. Decided to call it a tie.
Trump even won the popular vote!
District of Columbia (DC) went 92+ percent for Harris. Also, Northern Virginia actually part of DC. Virginia is otherwise red.
You know the Democrats were in trouble when the Amish got involved. They may have helped win it for Trump in Pennsylvania.
Legacy media has been crippled. The part social media played. Joe Rogan with an audience of around 17 million. Barron Trump. Ben Shapiro. Charlie Kirk. Tucker Carlson. Elon Musk. Buying Twitter was a game changer. These are young people! They are the future.
Trump made Politics fun. McDonald’s and riding in a garbage truck and the orange vest. Poking good fun at attacks is a brilliant strategy. Liberals don’t know how to laugh.
I think Trump mellowed after the assassination attempts: Trump Declares Victory: ‘God Spared My Life for a Reason’
Liberty at Risk
Without a proper understanding of civil government's biblical function and limited jurisdiction, Christians can be trapped into believing that civil government should promote policies beyond its designed purpose as long as they are for "the good of the people." This reasoning can lead many to choose security no matter what the cost to liberty.
Buy NowThe media still don’t get it. I hope they never do. Jen Psaki is a political advisor who served under both the Obama and Biden administrations and served the Biden administration as the 34th White House press secretary. MSNBC hired Psaki as a contributor in 2022. Some of her post-election comments:
JEN PSAKI: NBC News can now project that Donald Trump has won the State of Wisconsin, which means he is the winner of this race and will return to the White House as the country’s 47th president. And for so many of you watching right now, that news is, to say the least, a lot to digest. I understand that personally. After he lost four years ago, he refused to accept the outcome and incited a violent insurrection on our nation’s Capitol. He’s campaigned while facing criminal indictments related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 results, and he’s run as a convicted felon.
During this campaign, he also promised to essentially be an authoritarian leader. To use power like no American president ever has before and wield that power to go after his political enemies. This is also a man who has bragged about overturning Roe v. Wade and stripping away women’s bodily autonomy. He’s promised to conduct mass deportations to crack down on the rights of millions of Americans. Donald Trump is an anti-democratic force, but he’s just been elected democratically.
I think this is a big, huge, huge part of the story that is even hard to digest at this moment, but you have Elon Musk, who owns Twitter, X, whatever we’re calling it these days, X, who is a disinformation propagandist and now has a direct, could, potentially, have a direct line to the Oval Office.
- January 6th was a funny kind of “insurrection” by people who didn’t have any weapons.
- Every Executive Order made by Biden was an abuse of power.
- The Democrats have gone after Trump as a political enemy. They did the same with Giuliani.
- On the “criminal indictments.” This is from Tom Woods: “He’s had absurd lawsuits filed against him that anyone not in a coma realizes are politically motivated — his alleged ‘felonies’ are laughable, and result from a case that Alan Dershowitz described as the worst one he’s seen over a 60-year career.”
- Republicans had promised to overturn Roe v. Wade for decades. Trump actually did it through the same way it became law—the Supreme Court.
- Killing a baby in the womb is not “bodily autonomy” since a pre-born baby is not part of a woman’s body.
- Harris was not elected to run for President. Why isn’t that considered “anti-democratic”? Trump got elected democratically with the popular vote and Electoral vote.
- But Google and Facebook aren’t purveyors of disinformation? Give me a break.
The media threw everything they could at Trump. What can they do now that he’s been re-elected? They are out of ammunition.
J.D. Vance is Trump’s insurance policy against assassinations and possible prison. Trump could still function as President while in prison. This is a real problem for the Democrats. Vance is more conservative than Trump.
Will the Republicans follow through now that they have the House and Senate? The inaction of the GOP is what frustrates many conservative and Christian voters. I understand the frustration.
(Many Christians did not vote. If they had voted in past elections, we might have been able to turn things around and dismantle much of the Federal government’s power. Unfortunately, too many Christians don’t have a biblical view of civil government. They also like “free” government stuff. See my books God and Government and Restoring the Foundation of Civilization.)
God and Government
With a fresh new look, more images, an extensive subject and scripture index, and an updated bibliography, God and Government is ready to prepare a whole new generation to take on the political and religious battles confronting Christians today. May it be used in a new awakening of Christians in America—not just to inform minds, but to stimulate action and secure a better tomorrow for our posterity.
Buy NowIs the Supreme Court in play?
Stock Market has gone crazy today? Why?
What factor did Climate Change play in the election? Not much.
What about abortion? State level vs. National level. Trump did what he said he would do.
There are still a lot of RINOs out there. Ted Cruz asked Mitch McConnell for financial help and didn’t get any. Mitch needs to go. Rand Paul for Speaker?
“Hopefully we get rid of Mitch McConnell pretty soon,” Trump said, because he helped Biden. Can you believe McConnell endorsed me? Boy, that must have been a painful day in his life,” he continued.
• Youth vote
• Hispanic vote
• Black vote
All up for the GOP.
Why did major Liberal newspapers not endorse Harris? They saw the handwriting on the wall. Bezos is a businessperson. Like Michael Jordan, “Republicans buy sneakers, too.”
Oil and gas. Electric vehicle mandates?
Much more could be said and will be said in the coming days and weeks. The true test of this election will come when Trump is sworn in and what the Republicans actually do.
