Socialism is a system where the State controls capital and production, plans the economy and redistributes wealth from producers to non producers. It breeds a welfare environment where citizens become dependent upon the State for their daily bread. Individual liberties are replaced with the “common good,” decided by bureaucrats.
I received a letter from an atheist over the weekend. He claimed that it was perfectly logical to be an atheist, that he was just as moral as any Christian. I asked him this simple question: ” Given the basic assumptions of “militant atheism,” if somebody put a bullet in your brain, would that person have done anything wrong?”
Despite this clear teaching throughout the Bible, I am surprised at how many Christians don’t really believe it or try to explain it away with fancy charts and graphs. Many of these well-meaning brethren try to correct me and say that the Kingdom is a future reality that is exactly 1,000 years from start to finish.
Technological advances almost always come with a price. Not only with the cost of the actual material and labor and research and development, but with an opportunity cost as well. Think of the advantages of a cell phone or perhaps the “OnStar” system that comes on many vehicles.
It’s not only the left that sounds the alarm when Christians “jeopardize the separation of church and state” by engaging in political action.
