American Vision is often asked why we deal with the controversial subject of Bible prophecy. After all, shouldn’t we just focus on America’s Christian history or even the Gospel? Great question. Besides the fact that more than 25% of the Bible contains prophetic texts, Paul tells Timothy that "…the WHOLE Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teach, to convince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousness." We cannot take the post modernist position that each of us can have our own view of Bible prophecy. There can only be one right view—plain and simple.
There’s another reason why American Vision spends so much time proclaiming the truth about Bible prophecy. Without fail, we meet Christians in every city who tell us that there is no use restoring the Christian foundation of America. They claim that the Bible predicts the weakening of the Church and the increase of wickedness just before the "Rapture." Of course, they also believe that this Rapture is immenent. This kind of thinking is absolutely frightening. End times doomsayers have been saying the same thing since Dispensational theology was formulated and systemetized in the 19th century. Yet, none of their claims come to pass. Meanwhile, generations come and go and Christians slowly give up the great freedoms bought by the blood of our forefathers.
My wife found this haunting quote by Ronald Reagan in Janet Folger’s new book, The Criminalization of Christianity:
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.
One of our speakers from the Worldview Super Conference who resides in Australia commented on the incredible number churches there are in America. There are churches on nearly every street corner. If only we would work together, we could take back this country in 10 years. Our view of the future does matter. Do you have a vision for America?
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the House of the Lord shall be prepared in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and people shall flow unto it. Yea, many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go to the Mountain of the Lord, and to the House of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the Law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
