American Vision‘s mission goes beyond restoring America just for America’s sake. John Winthrop, the first governor of the Massachusetts colony, envisioned a nation that would become "a City on a Hill."
For we must consider that we shall be as a City upon a Hill, the eyes of all people are upon us;… Beloved there is now set before us life, and good, death and evil in that we are commanded this day to love the Lord our God, and to love one another to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments and his ordinance, and his laws, and the Articles of our Covenant with him that we may live and be multiplied, and that the Lord our God may bless us in the land whether we go to possess it…
The light from a city on a hill shines beyond its own walls. America’s restoration will lead to a more stable social structure, a prosperous economy, and a happier nation—demonstrating to the world the blessings and glory of living in a truly Christian society. It will also foster a more robust missions enterprise that helps America fulfill the Great Commission. Eventually, future generations will begin to see the fulfillment of this magnificent prophecy from Malachi:
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the House of the Lord shall be prepared in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and people shall flow unto it. Yea, many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord, and to the House of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the Law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Micah 4:1–2 • 1599 Geneva Bible)
American Vision is working to restore this America as well as build Christian nations around the world. This means providing training resources in languages and cultures other than our own. We are pleased to announce that American Vision‘s resources are currently being translated into several different languages. The Great Commission Center International has already translated some of Gary DeMar’s works on American history and government into Chinese. We have been approached by a translator who wants to translate Gary’s books on Bible prophecy into Spanish. In fact, a Spanish web site just ran a piece about Gary’s view of the "End Times" just last month. We mentioned a few weeks ago that we are seeking translators to translate the God & Government series in Arabic for distribution in Iraq and other middle-eastern nations. In short, American Vision is ultimately an international vision created by our desire to obey the Great Commission.
You have a rare opportunity to learn more about the status of Christianity in Europe from Dr. Sacha Walicord at our upcoming Patriot Theater Lecture Series on December 14th entitled, The Status & Impact of Christianity in the 21st Century. Sacha will be one of four speakers at this lecture series. When we fist met Dr. Walicord, he had this to say about the ministry of American Vision:
You’re doing a wonderful job! I am European and nobody seems to care about Europe – I wish there would be a movement like yours for Europe…
Goëkson Cik, another one of our special speakers, will be sharing the fascinating story of his conversion from Islam to Christianity. I hope you will join us to hear Dr. Gary North, Joel McDurmon, Dr. Sacha Walicord, and Goëkson Cik next week! Don’t miss: The Status & Impact of Christianity in the 21st Century on December 14th!
