Today kicks off Primary season for our 2014 elections. Folks, this is much more important than you can imagine. In many cases for tea party types, Liberty movement proponents, and old-school, hard-core conservatives, the primaries will be more important than the general election, though we must win those, too. Today will determine whether we advance with liberty and fiscal sanity, or continue with the legacy of the American Fascist—the RINOs, neocons, and establishment clowns.
Yesterday I promoted the release of my latest eBook: American Fascist: The Real Theodore Roosevelt. It has had a wonderful reception. I want to promote it again today and tomorrow—as our huge introductory price of $2.95 (regularly $9.95) continues until this Wednesday at midnight. But I also want to highlight the fact that Teddy was not our only American Fascist: he was merely the model and inspiration for much of the tyranny that came after him and is still with us today—and which sits incumbent in so many seats of power today.
As I explain in the book,
Theodore Roosevelt is no role model for the Christian or conservative. His life and work is riddled with war, bloodshed, and the celebration of it. His political work spans an impressive stretch of bureaucracy, executive office, campaigns, and public advocacy in which he upheld some version of just about every socialistic scheme that had been proposed up to his time. These included measures that had been among the few most pointed as chosen by Karl Marx himself: the graduated income tax, an inheritance tax, a central bank, and the regulation of industry.
TR’s plans for regulation of industry and even ordinary aspects of American life appeared early in his career, and did nothing but grow with his insatiable appetite for government power. From food and drug regulations to land grabs and “conservation,” from wealth redistribution to calls for “social justice.” And yet, in all the appeals for trust-busting and cutting big “greedy” business down to size, TR carefully avoided his cronies, particularly the Morgan interests, with only token exceptions. When a later president did apply the same legal standards evenly, including to TR’s cronies, TR exploded and broke friendship.
And while posterity has seen fit to blame Woodrow Wilson for all of the subsequent ills of elitist big-government, he did hardly anything that TR had not done first. This includes the two greatest financial issues signed into law by Wilson: the Income Tax Amendment and the Federal Reserve Act. Both of these were the product of Roosevelt much more than Wilson.
If these legacies were not enough, TR fundamentally altered American jurisprudence for the worse for decades to come with his ignorant and reckless appointment of Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., which he did against the advice of more knowledgeable and experienced men.
It is no exaggeration to say that this American Fascist is still with us—in multiple seats of power, from city councils and county commissions to state houses and the U.S. House and Senate, and beyond. The vision and practice of American government as a bully of empire, warmongering, welfarism, crony corporatism, taxation, deficit spending, wild activist Supreme Court nominees, and a growing host of government-industrial complexes will not change unless we change those leaders who practice these things.
And the sad fact is that there are many—many—alleged conservatives across this land who pay lip service to liberty but who practice with religious fervor the fascism described above. Let’s be blunt: we have offices all over that are filled with American Fascists who bear the name Republican and claim to believe in the land of the free.
The only “free” these politicians believe in is their own free lunch and their own free ride in retirement.
This problem can only change in the primary election, and that election begins today.
It’s time to kick out the American Fascists, starting today. Starting today, May 20, 2014, and continuing in different states over the next few months or so depending on your state. Here is a calendar you can check. Take the time and go vote in your primary election. Vote for fiscal discipline, peace, freedom, small government, decentralization, states’ rights, local rights, privacy, end the Fed, eliminate taxes, cut the budget, and end the wars. Vote against corporatism, cronyism, deficit spending, funding ObamaCare, warmongering, more taxes, more debt, budget compromises, and all that stuff that goes into the American Fascist.
If you don’t vote in the primaries now, you may only have a choice between two American Fascists when the general election comes. Do what you can, while you can.
Buy my book, get fired up against tyranny, and then go vote accordingly, today.
