Michael Moore Is Sat On

michael-moore

“If you are in the hip pocket of any political party, prepare to be sat on.” Gary North said it here, concerning the two wings of the Republican Party, the “mainstream” and the Tea Party. If a politician knows you are voting for him no matter what, he’ll ignore you right after his victory is [...]

Election 2010: A Taste of Victory But the War Isn’t Over

obama-black-white

For conservatives, the results of last week’s election are encouraging, a victory but we have to keep our guard up. If we relax and become complacent we will lose every inch of ground gained, probably even more. We won some battles but it is important to stay vigilant, fight even harder, the war is far [...]

The High Cost of College and What it Does to Your Children

Each fall, nearly two million American students will leave for college for the very first time. Their education will cost $12,000 a year for a public university and up to $50,000 for a private one. Scholarships and grants reduce the cost for most families, but still, the Wall Street Journal reports that the average student leaves college with $23,186 in debt.

Nationwide, the total cost for this transaction is somewhere between 25 and 40 billion dollars per year.

Why Liberals (Sometimes) Love the Bible

Liberals will use anything to support their unsupportable worldview, even if it’s the Bible. They will use the Bible when they can manipulate it enough to fit their agenda. How many times have you had a liberal throw Matthew 7:1 back at you when you mention that some particular behavior is immoral? “Remember what Jesus said, ‘Do not judge.’” When you criticize a piece of unconstitutional legislation or a law that the president wants passed, you’ll have “render unto Caesar” (Matt. 22:21) thrown in your face.

A Politically Incorrect Christmas Story

Liberal politicians twist the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth into a political propaganda story every year. Mary represents an impregnated premarital sex youth. Joseph and Mary’s plight that ends up with them giving birth to a child in a first century barn represents the poor and needy of America the U.S. government should save with [...]

Liberal Delusions, Case Number 002

Within weeks (plus or minus I can’t remember) of Obama’s inauguration American Vision received a brand-new book entitled Change for America: A Progressive Blueprint for the 44th President. We receive review copies of books all the time, but they usually come from Christian or conservative publishers, and this one sure did not. The behemoth 700-page [...]

Liberal Delusions, Part 1

The other day a Facebook friend posted a link to this video criticizing carbon cap-and-tax. I watched. Not long into the video I realized that while the criticism of the current cap-and-tax bill was good, the proposal to replace the current bill was no better. I soon realized I was dealing with the liberals’ liberals—the [...]

You Can’t Change Only One Thing

Liberals in America love to point to Europe with its socialistic policies and tell us what a good example this or that European country is. Sweden allegedly has the greatest government retirement system, so let’s “learn from their model.” France is said to have the greatest government healthcare system, 65% approval rating; let’s “learn from the French model.” Germany we’re told has the greatest government educational system, let’s adopt the German model. And so on.

The Divine State in Action

Obama and the Democrats want “more Americans to contribute today so that all Americans can do better tomorrow.” I’m sorry, but I’m already contributing enough, taking into account federal, state, property, school, ad valorem, sales, social security, hotel, entertainment, airline, utility, gasoline, and dozens of other hidden taxes. Taxes on alcohol and cigarettes do not affect me directly since I do not smoke or drink. These taxes, however, still have a deleterious effect on the economy since money is power in the hands of the State. By the way, our health-care crisis is related more to poor health habits – smoking, drinking, and obesity – and bureaucratic regulations that drive up health costs.
