Homosexual Marriage Isn’t as Good as Heterosexual Marriage

marriage_hands_rings

Marriage is an establishment of God, a creation ordinance, set forth in Genesis and reiterated by Jesus in Matthew 19. If the Bible isn’t true, and isn’t the standard we should live by, then marriage shouldn’t exist at all. Attempting to rationalize and sanction homosexual marriage is ludicrous and inconsistent with an atheistic worldview.

A Perfect Hatred

One headline inveighs, “Anti-gay bigots plunge Africa into new era of hate crimes.” The article complains, “As far as gay rights are concerned, it would appear that much of Africa is going backwards.” Another headline: “In Uganda, a Hate That We Must Confront.” Yet another, “Hate begets hate.” There are many. In fact a Google News search (not a plain search, but a narrowed search specifically for news stories) for the words “Uganda” and “hate” turns up almost a hundred hits for just the past month.

A Defender of Homosexuality Responds (Caution: Some Adult Material)

I received a lengthy response to my May 4, 2009 Blog article, “Penguins, Dog Vomit, and Human Sexuality.” Instead of the usual name-calling, foul language, unprintable comments, and just plain vileness, the emailer’s response was measured and thoughtful. I suspect that many people would be convinced by some of his argumentation because they are not in the habit of thinking arguments through. To be fair, I am including the content of his entire email. My comments follow in bold after each of his response section…

Homosexual Marriages: Square Peg, Round Hole

Abortion opinion has shifted in the past thirty years from majority approval or indifference to majority dissent because more Americans are aware that abortion kills a preborn baby. Technology has given us a window to the womb. Take a look at the GE 4D Ultrasound. The images are astounding. If the media ever tell the truth about homosexual behavior, public opinion will change. Homosexuals know this, so they are working overtime to get laws on the books that will eventually negate any later shift in public opinion.

Stephen Hendricks, vice president of PRIDE, a Montana homosexual “rights” advocacy group, has argued for homosexual marriage for some time. His latest entry was published on January 9, 2009 in celebration of “National Freedom to Marry Day.” He writes: “Fortunately, prejudice is starting to [crumble]. Polls show 75 percent of Americans think gay marriages will eventually be legal. About a third want it to happen, a third don’t and another third don’t care. (Among college students, three in five think gays should be able to wed.)” The reason there has been a shift in opinion is because the mainstream media refuse to define homosexuality. The euphemism “gay,” like the use of “pro-choice” for killing pre-born babies, masks what homosexuality really is. It doesn’t take long to get young people to reject homosexual behavior. I’ve accomplished it in less than 15 seconds. Aversion to abortion, the holocaust, and lynching are made more real when people see the images of the behavior.

Gay Marriage: Logic in the Pitts

In just another case of how liberals and secularists attempt to evade logic and reason using appeals to emotion and pity, a recent columnist “argues” for gay marriage by telling a tale of misery and despair. A tactic for many other untenable (and unpopular) liberal positions, here we find one more illogical and unreasonable (and therefore dishonest) appeal.

Where the Logic of Unbelief Leads

R.C. Sproul writes that “God’s existence is the chief element in constructing any worldview. To deny this chief premise is to set one’s sails for the island of nihilism. This is the darkest continent of the darkened mind – the ultimate paradise of the fool.” Arguing with people who have set sail “for the island of nihilism” is a frightening ordeal. By pushing them to be consistent with their underlying presuppositions, the philosophical nihilists have become moral nihilists.

Shilling for Dollars at the SPLC

American Vision received a phone call from an NPR station yesterday (3.3.2009) asking me to appear on one of their shows to answer the charge by the Southern Poverty Law Center that our organization is a “hate group.” (For the record, I don’t do interviews with media outlets that are subsidized by tax dollars.) The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has listed American Vision as a “hate group” under the “other” category on their website because we are “anti-gay.’ I guess the majority of people in California who voted to outlaw homosexual marriage are also “haters.” Of course they are. Read what homosexuals say about them!

Popular Culture as a Worldview Wedge

Similar to the way potholes develop, shifts in worldviews occur below the surface with a persistent gradualism until the foundation stones are broken apart. The early Fabian Socialists loved symbolism and depicted their principles in their Fabian Window that was designed in 1920 by George Bernard Shaw. The Fabians chose a wolf in sheep’s clothing as one of their symbols.
