Staff Profiles
Gary is a graduate of Western Michigan University (1973) and earned his M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary in 1979. In 2007, he earned his Ph.D. in Christian Intellectual History from Whitefield Theological Seminary. Author of countless essays, news articles, and more than 27 book titles, he also hosts The Gary DeMar Show, and History Unwrapped—both broadcasted and podcasted. Gary has lived in the Atlanta area since 1979 with his wife, Carol. They have two married sons and are enjoying being grandparents to their grandson. Gary and Carol are members of Midway Presbyterian Church (PCA).
Brandon joined the staff of American Vision in September of 2004. Prior to American Vision, he served as the Executive Vice President of Answers in Genesis USA. He is also the CEO and Co-Founder of Tolle Lege Press—widely known for republishing the 1599 Geneva Bible. Brandon earned his M.B.A. from Thomas More College and his B.F.A. from West Virginia University. Brandon is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Douglasville, Georgia. He resides in Dallas, GA with his wife, Jan, and their six children.
Joel McDurmon, M.Div., Reformed Episcopal Theological Seminary, is the Director of Research for American Vision. He has authored four books, Manifested in the Flesh: How the Historical Evidence of Jesus Refutes Modern Mystics and Skeptics; The Return of the Village Atheist; Zeitgeist Refuted: Is Jesus an Astrological Myth?; and Biblical Logic in Theory and Practice. He also serves as a lecturer and regular contributor to the American Vision website. He joined American Vision’s staff in the June of 2008. Joel and his wife and three sons live in Dallas, Georgia.
With more than 17 years experience in the printing and advertising field, Luis Lovelace joined American Vision in March of 2005, and since then has overseen the production of most of American Vision’s printed publications and product packaging. His extensive knowledge of printing industry production tools (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator), has permitted Luis to prepare, or supervise the creation of, documents for press and online media. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education from The King’s College (1983), Luis has performed pastoral and short-term mission work among Seventh Day Baptists since 1989. Luis and his wife Joanna make their home in Dallas, Georgia, along with their 7 children.
A lifelong enthusiast of letters, Ben joined American Vision in 2010 to assist with book publication, copywriting, and fund raising. A 2008 summa cum laude graduate from Georgia State University, Ben brings two years of experience working in the political hornets’ nest of northern Virginia, where he served as a copywriter, copyeditor, print manager, communications director, and direct mail package designer for liberty-minded lobbying organizations and candidates. Outside of work, Ben enjoys live music, traveling, writing, and the beauty and romance of human expression, seeking to seize what Walker Percy called the “singularity of time and excellence of place” every day. After calling Paris, France, and Fredericksburg, Virginia, his homes for the past three years, Ben lives in the Old Fourth Ward district in Atlanta and attends Blueprint Church.
James is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a B.S. Degree in Finance and is on his way to obtaining a degree in Accounting. He joined American Vision’s staff in the fall of 2008. Prior to joining American Vision, James was an accountant for S.P Richards Co. Canada. James and his wife reside in Kennesaw, Georgia and are members of Midway Presbyterian Church.
A video editor and graphic designer, Joseph directs and manages the Audio/Visual department projects and productions. Joe completed home education in 2003 with experience in business and the arts. He has produced numerous films for public education, business, ministry, and family; working with Vision Forum, Character First! Education, the Georgia Home Educators Association and Valor Visual Media. Some of the films he has co-produced and directed are “Character First! Goes to Myers” (2000), “Remember Alabama” (2005), From Script to Cinema (2006), A Legend and a Legacy (2007), and Caring For Life (2008). Joe resides in Dallas, Georgia, with his wife Elisabeth, daughter, Reese and son Jude.
Stewart is an aspiring filmmaker involved in every aspect of video production. Home schooled through high school, he graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2006 with a Degree in Communications Media Studies and a minor in Film Studies. In his spare time, Stewart maintains a blog and Youtube channel as an outlet for creating original and creative content. Stewart joined American Vision as Media Director in 2009 and currently lives in Kennesaw, GA with his wife Bethany.
As a home school graduate, raised with a strong biblical foundation, Linsay came to the American Vision staff eager to be a part of the growing ministry. She gained valuable customer service and administrative experience in a variety of working environments previous to joining American Vision, including local state politics, insurance and the industrial fields. Being the oldest of eight children she has a heart for children and has served in various children’s ministries; she currently co-leads a weekly student Bible club, as well as a ladies Bible study. Linsay currently attends West Ridge Church in Hiram Ga.
Having grown up reading Gary DeMar’s books and articles, Liz realized a childhood dream when she began working for American Vision at the beginning of 2007. Moving through a variety of roles which included customer service, wholesale and donor management, web content maintenance, event coordination and publication facilitating, which align with her past experiences as a Receptionist and an Executive Assistant, Liz became the Director of Customer Relations in 2009. She lives in Dallas, with her husband Joseph, daughter Reese and son Jude.
Nakitta has a passion for Christ and ministering to others. Becoming a part of American Vision’s Customer Relations Department is another outlet to pursue these passions. In her spare time she enjoys trying new recipes, shopping, decorating, creative projects around the house, home organization and cleaning. But most of all she enjoys spending quality time with her husband Jon. Nakitta and Jon currently reside in Douglasville, Georgia where they attend Grace Presbyterian Church.
Jerry came to American Vision as the warehouse supervisor in August of 2007. He also helps with events and conferences. Jerry is currently a junior at Kennesaw State University working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. Jerry and his wife Ashley were married in September of 2005 and live in Rockmart with their son. Jerry enjoys his job and gets satisfaction in knowing that his job is helping to advance the kingdom of God. Outside of work Jerry enjoys spending time in the mountains with his wife, son and dogs, and loves being around any lake. Jerry and his wife also enjoy volunteering their help to events at their church here in Powder Springs. His future plans include possibly getting a masters degree and owning a nice piece of land to raise his family on.
Chad is the proud father of a beautiful 2 year old girl, Ava. He says, “I love working for American Vision. The people at American Vision have welcomed me with open arms and love. I proudly pack every box with care.”
