What’s the best way to get these career politicians out of Washington D.C.? Take away the special privileges that make it so comfy that they never leave, and make it so hard to vote them out. If we’re ever going to experience liberty again in this country, we must remove the elitists in our nation’s capitol and tear down their ivory tower.

One perk I would like the congress and president to expand on would be vacations.
We should pay for them to stay on vacation so that they will stop destroying our
beloved country!
As I approach my 80th birthday I look back and ponder; I served 22 years in the U.S. Navy seeing combat in Korea &
4 tours in Vietnam. On my retirement I returned to college obtaining 3 degrees. I preface this in order to make the following statement: It is my humble opinion both Democrat and Republican Congressmen/women have failed to
remember they are in Washington to represent the people of America. With only a very few exceptions they are more
interested and devote more time and energy in furthering their power and financial worth. The time has come for every voting American to support those aspiring to seats in Senate and House of Representatives who will work for the betterment of their constituents and it is our responsibility to see they do the proper job we gave them, and making sure they realize we gave them the job and we can also take it away.
We have now what we fought the British for in the Revolutionary War. Taxation without representation. The entire congressional attitude is tell the citizens what they are going to get. Freedoms and independence is disappearing
in America. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NO LONG REPRESENTS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE on any front. They all talk a good game, but there performance is HORRIBLE. The representatives treat themselves with our money and give nothing in return. The entire government should have the same benefits as the ALL the AMERICAN citizens. There is certainly nothing special about them.
I say stop their pay until the budget is balanced, Both congress and the President they get enough in perks that they would not even need food stamps. It would only be fair that if they can not do the job and solve the problems affecting the People they supposedly represent, like jobs and a reduced national debit removing their salaries until the budget is balanced and the National debit reduced, then and only then do we start their pay again..But at a reduced rate taking into account all the perks they have just being in office, making them work for a living like real people not a separate class above the laws of the Constitution, the fact they make so much for the privilege of serving the people should be revered back to the original amount mentioned in the Constitution.
the progressives in both parties have created the mess and certainly do not deserve any perks !!! however the management of large corporations like gm sat down at the table with the labor unions and agreed in writing to increasing the breaks from zero to 100 minutes. lousy hierarchy in government, in big business and unions all want the same thing mo' money !!! and it all falls on the private citizen. unfortunately the teachers , the firefighters, and other government employees unions have joined in the quest and we are just awakening to it with exploded budgets at all levels of government.
One perk not mentioned is the retirement for life etc. after only one term. This needs to be terminated now! I do not know anyone else who has such a perk and we the tax payers are paying for it.
The best thing that could happen may be to give retirement for life IF they only serve one term. Serve more than that and they get no pension.
These people in Washington have absolutely screwed up this country and deserve prison time rather than full retirement.. After the unions destroyed the auto industry with unsustainable wages then they went after govt employees and now the burden of their retirement falls on the few that work in the private sector. You have to be a complete idiot to not see this. The govt produces nothing except debt.
