With government healthcare looming on the horizon, it is time to seek out alternative solutions. Samaritan Ministries International offers a health insurance alternative that improves the system while providing Christians an opportunity to bear each others burdens. As a member of Samaritan, you can know that your money isn’t funding evils such as abortion or embryonic stem cell research.

contd….
The government should have taken on the insurance companies but they have too much power. They could de-regulate the entire medical industry and allow me to get the medications I need on occasion without having to visit the ER, but since they won't de-regulate, and since they won't take on the insurance companies….what options are there? I know middle class people who are starting to suffer because of this ridiculous system we have. The government is worried that if they don't do something…. in a matter of years it will be blood in the streets.
This ministry offers no guarantee your bill will be paid. You're dependent on others generosity. Meanwhile since they play middle man, they're making money hand over fist…….and call themselves a ministry? It's a business, lets be honest.
John A.
John, I know plenty of people who have used Samaritan for years with no trouble. It isn't based on others generosity. You have a monthly premium just insurance (only cheaper) and that premium goes to those who need it for medical expense. BTW it goes DIRECTLY to those who need it. Your monthly premium does NOT go to Samaritan Ministries to then be doled out. So tell me, how are they making money hands over fist?
Just like with typical insurance, you don't pay, you don't get your insurance. If you fail to pay then you end up getting kicked out. This isn't a "let's hope some members come through this month" operation. I just talked to a man who has had multiple children, broken bones, sickness, etc. and all has been taken care of with no problems. It works so well for so little because it is insurance without the insurance company.
Directly to those who need it….okay so then where's the payment to Samaritan? Are you suggesting it's a charity?
I've talked to several people who have massive medical bills and deal with Samaritan. There's progress being made, but in the mean time you're having to deal with delinquent notices and threat of collections. It's perhaps better than nothing if you can afford it, but it is hardly an acceptable solution. This is ignoring the big macro-issues behind this whole debate. Nationally the debate never really did happen because demagogues like Palin and the crew at Fox wouldn't allow it to happen. They turned to sensationalism and propaganda and the gullible public bought into it.
I would like to know how much money Samaritan has spent on lobbying?
His comments concerning self-pay are not honest or realistic. I have been turned away many times because I am self-pay. In addition you get charged sometimes a triple price, deliberately inflated because it's based off the fact that insurance companies will negotiate lower rates. Lansberry says they negotiate discounts, but I have not talked to anyone who would verify it.
Self-pay patients have almost no control. You're treated like garbage and get the worst service because they assume you're poor and cannot pay. Unless they've heard of the 'ministry' you're basically walking in with nothing. Many doctors require cash (not check) up front to even see them when you're self pay. My experience has been the 'christian' doctors are the worst in this regard.
John A.
Really? so you asked them if they were Christian before or after you made the appointment to see them? How many doctors, whether godless or Christian, do you see every week to be be considered an expert in this matter? Do you go in to see them asking for something free, or did you prepare for the occasion when you would need their services? What's the last time you you discussed your Christian faith with your doctor, or theirs? Have you really found better care with someone who worships trees or their money? What is your point, exactly?
Well just one example. I was treated like garbage on the phone and by the receptionist….they didn't really want to deal with me since I was self-pay. I had to pay $75 cash to even get handed the clipboard to register. I filled it out and walked around the waiting room which was filled with World Magazine and various other tracts and literature, all associated with Dominionist thought.
I walked back up to the receptionist, got my money back and left. A few days later I found a rank pagan Prius-driving woman doctor who showed compassion with my situation, was extremely reasonable and accomodating and put the other doctor to shame.
I have had several experiences over the years in dealing with the medical community where some of the worst pagans (in one case an open adulterer) acted in more of a Christian manner than the local Christian doctors.
I wasn't looking for free services. I needed a doctor and the ER couldn't help me anymore. If you live in a rural area as I do, GP's often won't take new patients who don't have insurance. I know people who have to drive 1.5 or 2 hours to find a doctor who will see them.
How can I get information on this?

I say, lets take our America back, and keep the healthcare system the way it was. This so-called new healthcare, is just to take are of a bunch of free-loaders, and probably seventy percent arnt even Americans. Its our American boys overseas fighting to keep this country free, but free for who? I dont get anything free, far from it. If it wasnt for the middle-man of America, working, building and trying to morally bring his/her family up in a godly manner, there would be no America. The America I grew up in, is gone run by a hoard of inbeciles, who hates this country and the white man. Without the whiteman, this country will die in a few short decades. We’re hated, but everything thats built by the whiteman is totally infiltrated no sooner then the building is finished. Hospitals, theme parks, theatres, etc. I dont oject to anyone using these facilities, these facilities are built for everyone to use, but stop criticising the people who put them there and think of where you would be today without the help of former europeans. I can quickly tell you. I hope G-D in his great wisdom sees fit to rid our country of the scum that sits in my house in D.C. To all Republicans: REVERSE that socialistic, so called, healthcare bill. Make sure the ones who worked all their life and paid into it, receives the benefits they were promised. (medicare.) Why should somebody laying back on welfare receive anything or an unlawful immigrant that cant even speak english. Let them go back to their own country and mooch off of it.
I like the idea ! How do I subscribe?
