Whose version of Christianity should we follow? President Obama points out several different passages, which taken out of context and applied to situations that they weren’t given for, seem incongruous and unattainable. The New Testament is very clear that there are a number of issues that have changed sine the Old Testament. Unfortunately many Christians (and non-Christians) have fallen into the trap of pitting the Old Testament against the New Testament, there’s no need to do so because we live within the harmony of these Testaments.

Dear Sir, I feel the need to correct the extreme wrongful remark on that slavery did not begin with African's being kidnapped, but in fact it was an act of mercy, for those people were going to be killed by their African captors. There was mercy in the hearts of those men, and they saved those many from death and took them to other lands as slaves. That is how it began. I understand how it became a cruel and horrific trafficking of humans, but lets not forget how it began.

Your explanation of what President Obama said about the bible, is very informative. I believe that Obama was deliberately demeaning the bible. He is a "pro" at demeaning, but never without a purpose. He selected conflicting information, which you can do with any book. What he was saying to us (in the video that I saw), was "See, this what you all believe in…fools. Anyone who has researched obama, knows he is NOT a Christian and is in fact a muslim, he can recite the Quran without hesitation and it's clear his background in Christianity is simply skewed by his belief in Islam.

Barack Obama definitely should read the Bible himself–especially the New Testament, which I am sure he has never done. It is so easy to quote a verse here or there to twist its meaning. The Bible needs to be read from cover to cover. Maybe God, in His infinite kindness and mercy, might shed a little light for Obama.

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE ADDRESSING OBAMA AS A "Christian" OR AS A "President" WHICH THIS MUSLIM IS NEITHER ONE. HE HAS AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE AS A CRIMINAL FOR NOT ABIDING BY THE OATH OF OFFICE HE TOOK WHEN SWORN IN. THAT ALONE IS GROUNDS FOR IMPEACHMENT. I seriously doubt that acting Pres. Obama REALLY wants anyone to read the Bible. He is a Moslem and, by definition, desires the death of or conversion to Islam, all Christians.
Both Christianity and Islam have goals to convert the whole World:
Christianity by Jesus death on the Cross – the love of Christ
Islam by conversion and conquest, by killing all who do not comply.
What are the two main goals of EVIL as personified in Satan?
1. The total annihilation of Christianity.
2. The annihilation of all Jews.
What are the two main goals of Islam?
1. annihilation of all Jews.
2. annihilation of Christianity.
Therefore, Islam personifies Evil. Their god, Allah, is in fact Satan, and the Moslem religion is Satan Worship.
Since Obama is a Moslem, his short term goal, is to destroy the United States since it is, at present, the main seat of Christianity. He has already said when politics turns bad then he will stay with the Moslems. When things gets bad enough, against him politically, in the US he will call upon the Moslem world for aid in the form of terrorism, invasion, and slaughter of the opposition. He has already started paving the way by setting aside Millions of Dollars ($20 M I think!) to import Hamas people to the US.
If we fail to gain the majority in the Legislative Branch in 2012 election we are dead as a free country. If we win the majority and continue the historic modus operandi of the Republican party we are dead as a free country. The debt piled up by Obama may even destroy us after that but we can still be a free people even though we are bankrupt, poor, hungry and near defenseless.
The debt was caused by central banking,printing money out of thin air.Our government has allowed this for over 100yrs. This fruad should be shared by anyone in government as it is unconstitutional.We should arrest them and jail them,if any of us tried any of these ways it would be 20yrs in the fed pen. All of these power elite also worship god,just not the one we do(Jahoveh),always remember and use his name as he tells us in the BIBLE.
For those of you who have never read the Bible – You will recognize Obama as the serpent (snake) in the garden of eden, he's also there when Cain kills his brother Abel, and so on.

I believe that Pres Obama should read the bible himself I am sure he represents himself as a christian but does not live the life of a christian nor does he believe in the values I do believe he should practice what he preaches before he can give any advise on any subject.
