The majority of dispensationalism teaches a pretribulational rapture that could happen at any time. If the rapture is an imminent event, then Israel becoming a nation again, or any particular sign, prior to a pretribulational rapture cannot be a prophetic sign. It’s no wonder that so many Christians are confused about Bible prophecy.

Gary, Have you read the book “Foes from the Northern Frontier” by Edwin Yamauchi, Baker Books, Grand Rapids, MI? That book deals with your topic of the meaning of Ezekiel 38 and 39. The book shows this refers to ancient peoples attacking the land of Israel from the northern frontier in ancient times, not an attack of modern “Israel” by the modern day Russians or Soviets. I though the bp oil rig exploded on April 20th instead of the 19th. If it was April 20th, that means it happened on "pothead" day '420' many people on marijuana claim that as their holiday. I think it isn't escatology, it's GOD trying to wake up America to stop smoking dope, also, I think that the 'chickens have come home to roost' on our government running out of money; I wonder how many people who would have been born between 1973-1990 that could have been taxpayers would help the defacit–those embryos could have been born and adopted out into good families…

Gary – nicely done! I should add that I'm a member of David Jeremiah's church, and having only recently been turned on to preterism, I now know to view everything dealing with prophecy from his pulpit in a different light!
