Many Bible prophecy teachers and writers believe and teach that Israel becoming a nation in 1948 is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. The revival of the Hebrew language is often taught as a fulfillment of Zephaniah 3:9. Should the Bible be viewed through the lens of current events or should we rather view current events through the lens of the Bible?

Sorry you say so Louise, but you are very deluded.
The re-establishment of Israel as a nation is such an obvious fulfillment of Bible Prophecy, it's stunning to me that any believer can argue against it. But then, the elect is deceived at times in certain areas. I'm saddened to hear of Christians who do not love and support Israel, but they'll just have to answer to God for that someday if they don't wake up. Ah, so God won't protect Israel because there is sin in Israel, is that it? Is there sin in America, and is America still blessed by God?
Louise,
In 457BC Israel became a nation again was predicted and was relevant to bringing forth Christ. Nehemiah and Ezra documents what happened. Under the new covenant it is no longer the natural Abrahamic seed that are the Israel of God (Romans 9:6-8). It is now (since 1st century) those who are in Christ (Gal. 3:26-29), since the gentiles became grafted in (Romans 11:17 & Romans 11:25-27). Since your sins are taken away then you are a part of the new covenant elect and a part of the Israel of God since the middle wall has been broken and has been made into one people of God not two (Eph. 2:11-14) and now there is no distinction (Romans 10:11-13) for all are one in Christ. It is not about being Jew (Ishmael and Esau were Jews but were not the peopel of God, whereas Jacobs line was), it is about being in Christ. The Jews under Jacobs line were simply a foreshadow of Christ in the new covenant. A Jew is not one outwardly but one inwardly (Romans 2:28-29) and those who are in Christ are Jews inwardly (Gal. 3:29) and are therefore Abrahams seed or are a part of the nation of God (1 Peter 2:9) since the old nation of God was done away with (Matthew 21:43) and is no longer worshipping in geographic Jerusalem but everywhere (John 4:23, Gal. 4:26).
Wow aseattleconservative, kudos to you! I don't think God would bless a country that disobeys His commandments.
Thank you for your post!
In an online debate that started over (of all things) having 3 time marriage loser Rush Lambaugh invite sodomite Elton John to perform at his next wedding, the subject of Israel and it's defense forces (IDF) came up.
After posting the following regarding the IDF: "Since 1993, homosexuals serve openly in the military, including special units, without any discrimination. This happened after a reserves officer testified before the Knesset that he had been barred from researching sensitive topics, and his rank had been revoked, because of his sexual orientation" I simply asked the following question (to which I never received a response):
"Will God bless a country (such as Israel) that allows sodomites in it's military?"
I think not.
I always appreciate it when you take time to clarify this subject Gary. We have far too many Esau(ites) who are eager to sell off their birthright . I think if they read your "Last Days Madness" and Lloyd Dale's 'Olive Tree Mystery", they would begin to appreciate what Christ has done in ways they have never known. Thanks for your courage and not compromising the Truth!
