Prophecy Past vs. Prophecy Future

Gary uses scholarly biblical hermeneutics to make an honest interpretation of Bible prophecy. Bible prophecy supports more fulfillment of Revelation than not. The fall of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 must be explained by dispensational scholars to validate futurist apocalyptic prophecy.

The church in Christ is actually a continuation of true Israel, which, in the OT economy, resided within national Israel. With the aid of John the Baptist these faithful Jews became followers of Christ, becoming the original apostles. At the Last Supper in the Upper Room, Christ established the new covenant with eleven of these men as prophesied by Jeremiah, 31:31. At Pentecost this body of believing Jews were spiritually energized and the NT church was officially and publicly inaugurated, thousands more Jews being added. Later, gentiles were grafted in through the preaching of the gospel. In Gal. 6:16 the church is called “..the Israel of God.” In AD70 corrupt national, political Israel was destroyed by the Roman armies in conjunction with the coming (Parousia) of Christ in power and glory to establish His Kingdom on earth. Since that event the church, the new spiritual Israel, stands in its own right, under the authority of Christ. All of the OT prophecies and types regarding Christ’s redemptive work are now fulfilled, We, as believers, realize (realized eschatology) the benefits of this through faith and obedience. We now realize Christ’s presence, in and among us, whereas under the OT economy He resided only in the most holy place in the temple made of stone. Christ showed us how true Israel comes forth out of old dead, corrupt, national Israel by the raising of Lasarus, alive, from a cold, dead, stone tomb, shaking off the restricting grave clothes, that represented the OT order that was soon to pass away. Many today who are trying to reestablish old national Israel are working against Christ, trying to put Lazarus back into the grave clothes and the tomb. That is all in vain and cannot be done. Christ cannot be overpowered. Hallelujah! JET
