American evangelicals are conflicted with involvement in American politics, but such doesn’t seem to be the case when a government bill was raised in Uganda that would criminalize homosexuality—even give it the penalty of capital punishment. Some liberally-minded Christians are against the legislation. Joel McDurmon, filling in for Gary in today’s show, explains how this isn’t so simple and Christians need to return to the Bible for a comprehensive Biblical course of action.

Lev 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife,
even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the
adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death
How often have you heard it suggested that adultery should be criminalized?
In Leviticus it was not a parponable offence after a tearfull appology,it was death for both parties.
You cannot highlight homosexuality on the basis of Leviticus if you do not apply the same principles elsewhere.
Yes, a homosexual act is a sin,yes adultery is sin.But does Leviticus say the death penalty should be applied to someone who only "thinks about" commiting an act of adultery, but does not do it in practice.No.
To condem someone for having a homosexual orientation, but who does not practice homosexual acts, would come under the same rule.
If the Ugandans think this is right, then it is also right to have the same standard applied to,adultery, those indulging in pre marital sex, and rapists.Homosexuality cannot be treated on its own.
