Obama has apparently taken a step to disarm America, according to a document that has been leaked. The step is strategic and very cunning: begin with the military.

The document reveals a proposal to force all military personnel to register all firearms—even privately owned firearms that are kept in their private residences. It would force a regular inventory of all such firearms concurrent with the regular inventories of military weapons.
Soldiers maintaining privately owned firearms in their private residences, off base, would be required to keep their weapons in locked containers or with trigger locks, unloaded, and have the ammunition secured separately from the weapon in a locked container.
The proposal calls for a complete prohibition of concealed carry of any weapon—even folding knives with blades 3 inches and larger—while on base. This prohibition will override state and county permits for concealed carry.
Personnel will be required to request in writing for permission to keep privately owned weapons off-base. Privately owned weapons and ammunition kept on-base must be kept in a monitored room and can be accessed only with approval of a commander.
While all this is bad enough in itself, the fear is that once enacted, such regulations could be used as a precedent for civilian infringements as well. “If this arms law is good enough for the military.…” Let’s stop them before they have the precedent. Please forward this to everyone you know, and anyone you believe may have influence: lawyers, NRA officials, GOA, press outlets, news organizations, representatives, etc., etc.

I now see that the president of hate is now trying his best to disarm america. I cannot wait until this guys term of office is up. I now have started a countdown of the days. American had better wake up and make sure that congress is no longer composed of democrats – that will not stop him but it will slow him down. Knowing this arragent anti american in office. Why does he not order the Secret Service which protects him to lock up their weapons – and can only access them if they ask permission of the Director.
I believe that he and most of Congress will need to be removed from office BEFORE their current terms are up!

Well said Jim G.! I was an Army Ranger 1960-1980. I was in Federal Law Enforcement from 1982-1990. I have a State License to carry concealed but not on base. What idiots! It was a disgrace that the Killer from Fort Hood was incapacitated by a civilian cop responding to the deaths of thirteen unarmed soldiers and not some hero soldier with personal firearm. Unfortunately. we have a bunch of wimps in leadership positions in the military who have no loyalty to the Constitution (particularly the 2d Amendment) despite their having sworn a oath as you and I did to Protect and Defend that same Constitution. Like you said, Vote the Bastards out in Nov.

My kid lives OFF BASE in a private residence!!! So YES…this article has merit.

It has always been military policy for Armed Forces Personnel that own weapons and reside on a military installation to have those weapons secured in the "base armory". Now, as far as those personnel residing "off base" in their own private quarters, I would think the 2nd Amendment would apply there and that the military could not force anyone to surrender their legally owned weapons. Certainly a member of the Armed Forces is afforded the opportunity to store their weapon(s) in the base armory and remove it at any time, however, they then must be escorted off base, they cannot maintain possession while "on base", unless they are involved in a military sponsored shooting event (qualification, etc.). It would seem as "Cpt Patriot" writes that this is an attempt (knee jerk reaction) to prevent another "FT Hood" type incident. People need to understand that Mayors like Chicago's Richard Daily and NY's Bloomberg have testified before the "World Court" in the Hague, Netherlands that America needs to "outlaw law abiding citizen's from owning firearms"

Chief, this has not been the case for all bases. In my time at Camp Pendleton I was allowed to have weapons in my home, and I was able to transport them on base. No escort, but they had to be registered with base police or "PMO". If you got stopped and they were not registered with the base, you would have some questions to answer. I still go hunting at Camp Pendleton almost every year.

There has been several comments as to it has always been required to store your guns at the armory on base. It is disgusting to think someone has the right to require weapons in an off post home be registered and that the CO can dictate how they are stored, but it has not always been required that weapons be stored at the armory on base. Camp Pendleton in the 90's, I had weapons in my house. I did have to register with the base police, but that was it. Actually got caught with 5 in my pickup as I was moving my family on base. Sgt that stopped me, asked a few questions, explained the procedure, and told me he would double check I had complied the next week. Issue solved. Far cry from this now. Only time you had to store in the armory was if you lived in the barracks.
