Obama has apparently taken a step to disarm America, according to a document that has been leaked. The step is strategic and very cunning: begin with the military.

The document reveals a proposal to force all military personnel to register all firearms—even privately owned firearms that are kept in their private residences. It would force a regular inventory of all such firearms concurrent with the regular inventories of military weapons.
Soldiers maintaining privately owned firearms in their private residences, off base, would be required to keep their weapons in locked containers or with trigger locks, unloaded, and have the ammunition secured separately from the weapon in a locked container.
The proposal calls for a complete prohibition of concealed carry of any weapon—even folding knives with blades 3 inches and larger—while on base. This prohibition will override state and county permits for concealed carry.
Personnel will be required to request in writing for permission to keep privately owned weapons off-base. Privately owned weapons and ammunition kept on-base must be kept in a monitored room and can be accessed only with approval of a commander.
While all this is bad enough in itself, the fear is that once enacted, such regulations could be used as a precedent for civilian infringements as well. “If this arms law is good enough for the military.…” Let’s stop them before they have the precedent. Please forward this to everyone you know, and anyone you believe may have influence: lawyers, NRA officials, GOA, press outlets, news organizations, representatives, etc., etc.

Personal firearms on Post must be registered through the Provost, this has been that way since i can remember. However, there is no doubt Obama wants to take away our firearms. Even when you move, the information goes with you that you own or owned the weapon. And I completely concur about voting republican…. it is the military way. For the army: Only personnel living in the barracks or personnel living in military family quarters had to register private weapons with the provost marshal's office in the past. Those categories of personnel were supposed to keep their weapons in the unit arms room. None of us wanted people fooling around with our privately owned guns in the arms room, nor did we want to deal with limited access to our privately owned weapons. To get around it, most of us just kept our weapons at a friend's house off post and never mentioned it.
Personnel living off post were not required to register weapons or keep weapons on post.
What I see as the new and different part is the gov trying to make all military personnel on or off post register the weapon with the provost marshal's office and keep it locked in a container with trigger locks and seperate from ammunition. Which is a violation on the govs part.
This is part of disabling the military to make an organized move against a way out of line gov…

I personally don't think most of Congrss or the Senate has ever read the Constitution, let alone follow it. They think they are above the law. Obama and all the left want to create a nanny state and be able to dictate to the "peons" what we can and cannot do.
These regulations have been in effect since before I was on active duty in the late 1960's. This is just a revision of the existing AR and appears to be making little real change. It should be noted that this "leak" could be just a "red haring." While we are concentrating on this, the anti-Second Amendment (Anti Constitution for that matter) administration is moving towards signing the UN Treaty on Gun Control. If this treaty is signed AND APPROVED BY THE SENATE, we will have lost all rights to own private fire-arms. Even though the Constitution states that IT is the “Law of the Land.” The present Supreme Court can not be counted on to rule a treaty as being in violation of that Constitution, even when it demands the nation go against it. The only hope for us now is that the people of America wake up and see what is going on and that we vote out the Socialist, One World Government, elements that permeate Washington politics today.

According to Snopes, the information about the UN Treaty isn't true…the US didn't sign it…but it could happen, then like you say, we have the issue of possibly being forced to comply although it is unconstitutional; while supposedly, our Constitution supercedes any international law. In any case, with all of these types of issues, you are right, the only way to really do something about retaining our liberties is to inform the 70% or so conservative majority of this nation, get them involved, then actively demand better representation…at the polls. Remember the Whiskey Rebellion…armed opposition to the government will not be tolerated even by the president most committed to liberty, and at this point any form of violent protest would almost certainly give way to martial law.

This is a proposed revision to current policy, which is why you see all the lines and corrections thru it. The driving force behind all of it is the Ft. Hood Shooting in november. Big Army thinks more rules will make people safer, which is stupid, it only makes careers safer, not Soldiers The key to fixing the disaster the federal gov't has become is to vote out all democrats this fall & lean like hell on the repubs to fix it & hold them acc'table when they dont by putting new repub's in their place. Any time someone sets up a 'Gun Free' zone (aka 'Free Kill' zone), they are telling the bad guys they can take as long as they like and kill as many as they like. I was amazed atthe Ft Hood shooting, with a group that could easily have taken the Muslim Terrorist out, but then found out the stupidity of the military setting up a free kill zone. Such gun-free zones don't work for schools, shopping centers, churches or military bases. When will the anti-gun types learn that the best way to stop such free killings is to have armed and trained folks available to defend themselves and others? I served my country in time of war back in the 60's and then there was no restriction on firearms other than to those living in base housing. And then it only meant that one had to clear any firearm with the base Police force to have it on base. It was their decision if they considered you safe then they ok'd you to keep a firearm in your barracks, or they could deny you that right if they felt they had good reason and didn't have to explain it to anyone. This is a much different situation and is on a regular basis becoming more and more restrictive just as is most every other phase of life. It is called progressive socialism. I hope you enjoy it because it will soon be much more intense and I can assure you that in it's final form you will not enjoy it much. I am not very educated. I don’t spell well, and don’t know very many big words. But I still get up each day and think of how I am blessed to be an American. That even though I am not rich, I have helped to provide, and care for my family. Been able to buy my own home and do with it as I please. Yes, I have always owned a weapon, and yes, they have safety locks and are kept in a double locked safe. I am prior service, and am a expert with the M16. I am a adult, I was taught by my father and the Army the weapon is not a toy, and is only for sportsman, hunting and defense. I read your remarks and I feel sorry for you and our future generation. You might go on a yard sale binge, and look for old history books and anything else before the 70′s and look for the truth. You don’t sound as if you have a loved one or have been yourself in the military. But, believe me, we patriots feel the weight of freedom. And some have paid with their lives, so we all could have freedom. Without freedom you can’t own a weapon, your own home, educate you children or sometimes even eat, because the food is all hoarded by the people in charge. You cannot choose who your doctor will be, because “you’re not paying for his service”, and they know what is good for you. It’s not paranoia, it’s the big people on top, wanting to rule the little people on the bottom, dictate,

Second Amendment or no Second Amendment, I have yet to find any constitutional clause which expressly delegates to Congress the power to regulate civilian firearms. The 2nd Amendment is certainly no delegation of such power. And although several clauses of Section 8 of Article I clearly give Congress the power to regulate military firearms, again, there is no express delegation of power to regulate civilian firearms in the Constitution as far as I can tell.
In fact, historical timelines for the federal regulation of civilian firearms typically show the following disturbing thing. There seem to be virtually no federal regulation of civilian firearms until the FDR administration. And if that is the case, the problem with civilian gun regulations made during the FDR Administration is that FDR and Congress were known to blatantly overstep their constitutional limits on legislation made in that time. So I wouldn't be surprised if federal regulation of civilian firearms was actually unconstitutional.
Finally, note that James Madison, known as the Father of the Constitution, had regarded the Bill of Rights as unnecessary. This is for this simple reason that the Constitution never expressly delegated to Congress the power to regulate our basic freedoms, such as those listed in the 1st Amendment, in the first place. So the 2nd A. is arguably confusing the fact that the Constitution doesn't expressly give Congress the power to regulate civilian firearms anyway.
Okay, what am I overlooking?
You're overlooking that the Federal Government already has gone outside the bounds of the constitution. Sure, they don't have the power to regulate civil firearms… so why do you have to get a gun purchase permit to even buy a gun in many states? How come we are required "by law" to use a FFL holder (that's Federal Firearms License holder) in order to transfer a gun across state lines?
And how come the Federal government is pouring billions into public education since it is explicitly against the constitution?
Because the American Civil government no longer follows the Constitution. We, and our gun rights, are only safe so long as public opinion is strong against gun control. As soon as public opinion fails- the Feds will come marching in.

How come we are required "by law" to use a FFL holder (that's Federal Firearms License holder) in order to transfer a gun across state lines?
And how come the Federal government is pouring billions into public education since it is explicitly against the constitution?
Because the American Civil government no longer follows the Constitution. We, and our gun rights, are only safe so long as public opinion is strong against gun control. As soon as public opinion fails- the Feds will come marching in.

As you rightly point out, the darling of American socialism, FDR, trounced alot of freedoms for the sake of ending the depression, or wining the war. He is certainly one of the 10 WORST presidents in our history.
I would like to note that the gun-owning public is a very amorphous, disjointed group- very much like the Republican party. Some gun owners have adopted little liberal lies as part of their thinking about gun ownership.
1. So-called assault weapons have no place in civilian hands.
2. We have the police to protect us.
3. Having other people think for us and adopting their "idea"-ology is much easier than thinking for ourselves. (this one covers many modern evils.)
I am certain that the communist majority in the White House and Congress are very aware of this. That is why they approach the elimination of our liberities incrementally.
Maybe when the GunOwnersofAmerica stops bashing the NRA and starts working WITH us we can START to show some unity and become more effective.

Obama is more dangerous, than anyone with a gun. As a commander in chief he could not lead a hungry dog (even a little one) to food. He (in my opinion) is what you would find under any horses tail. I could push a chain father than I would/would believe him.
Makes you want to sign up for the military and go “fight for freedom” doesn’t it? I wonder what kind of freedom the military is supposedly fighting for when they don’t have any of their own? If I was in the military, I’d walk and never look back because its just a big lie. (See “War is a Racket” by 2 time Medal of Honor winner! Smedley Butler……Yes…that’s 2 time Medal of Honor winner!!) I guess the facade is cracking in this big scam…I wonder how much longer the scam will go on? Maybe when the currency collapses and the gov’t declares martial law the people will wake up…..but I doubt it!

When I was stationed in Hawaii, the state and military required that all guns be registered. If you lived on base, then you were required to keep your personal firearms in the armory on base. Guess what? I never registered or stored my guns anywhere, but in my house, and the state and military authoruties both could "Kiss My A**",then and now. Individual right to bear and keep arms is not given to us by the government, it is a Natural God given right of self defense and preservation and no government has the right to infringe on it. Any that do,deserve the business end of them. These half-wit politicians can pass all the regulations they want, but I will never obey or comply with tyranny of any kind,in fact I will use my arms to resist any such tyranny, regardless of which government it is. You want myguns,…only from my cold dead fingers!

I fear there will be NO elections in November because comrade Obama declares martial law. If he gets his way "voting" of ANY sort will be outlawed and he will set himself up like his buddy Castro.
